Armageddon
by Laura, 14

A thousand years or more gone by
Yet still the mountain stands
In mute salute; as aged sky
Cracks, and falls upon the land

The land which held both king and pauper
Bearing with every first-breathed breath
Another's joys and hopes and dreams
And, in the end, another's death

The oceans where began so much
Are vacant now for ever more;
A windswept wilderness remains
Of what was once the ocean floor

Rolling pastures, mountain ranges,
Forests, deserts, lands of ice
Nothing left of bygone ages -
Armageddon's sacrifice

Celebrated monuments
Left derelict to turn to rust
Seven wonders of the world, fall
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust

Through the shattered firmament,
A final glimpse of dying sun;
In the eternal kingdom, the
Great Story has begun.

Calling All Dreamers . . .

The storm has to come before the rainbow appears,

the winter always comes before the spring.

Dig deep within yourself,

you can make it.

You hold the power to do anything.

If only you could see the light inside you,

that light can brighten up the Earth.

You can only change the world around you

once you realize what you're worth.

Never forget that patience is a virtue,

Not only that, but it's a strength.

Nothing can stop you from reaching your goal.

Not height, nor depth, nor length.

Go the distance, reach for the stars,

no matter how far off they seem.

For only those who are dreamers

can realize their dreams.

Everlasting

The things that they say last forever

are faith, hope and love.

They say that these three things are gifts,

sent from up above.

That many things will pass away,

that many things will die.

But faith hope and love remain the same,

that's one rule you can't defy.

I want to know who said that,

I think they should change the saying.

Because trusting these values in my life

has brought me nothing but pain.

Then I saw a light as bright as a star,

and an angel was beside me.

She told me she was sent from God,

to lead me and to guide me.

I asked her why I should believe,

I asked how I'd know it was true.

She said there's no way to know for sure,

the choice is up to you.

I told her I trusted her,

and she gave me a golden smile from above.

And when I asked of her a name,

she answered Faith Hope Love.
