I
was walking with Becca to English and I
saw Juan and Victor coming in the other
direction. I told Becca that I wanted to
talk to Juan and would she come with me.
She said sure and we crossed the hall and
stood right in front of the two guys so
they couldn't go any where.
Victor
said 'Hi" to us and Becca said hi back,
but I didn't say anything. I just stood
there staring right into Juan's face for a
minute then I said, "Juan, I've got
something to say to you."
Marita
and a group of girls that she hangs out
with saw what was happening and they
stopped to watch. Then Cleavon, this guy I
know, who was walking with some brothers
stopped to check out the scene too. Before
I knew it, there was like a crowd of
people around us. Juan didn't have a
chance to say anything because I started
right in on him. I looked straight at him
and shouted, "I don't want to waste a lot
of time here, because you're not worth me
being late for English. Here's all I have
to say. If you ever touch me again you
will be an even sorrier creep than you are
now."
Then
Marita and her friends started cheering,
so did Cleavon and the
brothers.
I
felt very powerful, standing there, being
right in Juan's face. I could tell he was
surprised and confused and embarrassed all
at the same time. His little twisted mouth
was open, like he was gasping for air. And
there were all these people watching, so
there was all of that. Juan, being the
slippery eel that he is, was probably
trying to figure out what he was going to
say to me, as a comeback. You know, so he
wouldn't completely lose face in front of
everyone, but I didn't give him a chance.
After I said my piece, I just walked
away.
I
didn't stop walking 'til I walked through
the door in English. Becca gave me a hug
and said that I had been amazingly
strong.
I
didn't feel so strong. My heart was racing
and I felt kinda scared that I had
actually said what I said. But once I had
a minute to think about what I had just
done, I did feel strong. I was glad that
Victor was there and it wasn't just Juan
alone. Victor's a really nice guy and I
know that Juan looks up to him. There was
no way that Juan was going to act like a,
you know what, in front of
Victor.
And
after I left, Juan was probably trying to
figure out what the hell he was going to
say to Victor. Thinking about him
sputtering his way through some lame
excuses made me laugh!
I
did it! Yes!
